The Photographer:

First off; thank you for stopping by to view my fine art work, which as you can see is mostly nature related. Since I was a very young photography piqued my interest, yet I never did get serious with it beyond a couple classes in my teen years. Then in 2001 I was brought out into nature to enjoy the great outdoors on a number of trips. This was all it took, I was hooked! My first couple cameras were point and shoot Canon and Nikon, which I soon realized were limiting in allowing me to capture the true natural beauty in the way I really wanted to. After buying my first DSLR I have constantly been doing what it takes to expand my knowledge and list of useful equipment and accessories. Today I backpack and hike numerous times a year to document the endless wonder of the wild and not so wild places. This is more of a personal goal for me than anything. Today more than ever we need to have a true appreciation for the wonder and beauty of the natural world. I hope that my images help to remind us ALL that nature is a necessity, not a nice to have. Even if you don't enjoy standing in the middle of a rainforest or on top of a mountain, what is happening in these regions are impacting everyone directly or indirectly.

On the technical side I look to continuously expand my photographic knowledge and creativity encompassing involvement with Professional Photographers of Oregon (PPO), workshops and seminars to stay up on the latest trends, print competitions, and more. I have been taking photography serious for more than several years now and actively as a professional since 2005. As of February 2007 I am on the Board of Directors for PPO and have been an invited speaker to the 2007 PPO fall seminar to give a presentation on backpacking and landscape photography.

I am available to hire for hiking and backpacking excursions in the Northwest. I want to help others get out and enjoy all there is to breath and soak up in nature, and of course assisting you with photography to capture great images. The beauty that people have out their backdoors in the Northwest is nothing less than amazing and should be enjoyed by anyone living or visiting the area. Contact me today for current pricing and availability.
